I am sure that there are differing opinions on this, and I personally can’t speak for everyone, however my personal philosophy is that if you want to be apart of something, then be a part of it! trans*, cis, everything in between… it doesn’t matter. If someone is trans* FAAB but still identifies with the riot grrrl movement and wants to be a part of it, more power to you! The reverse should also be true. Again, I don’t speak for the whole movement, nor do I even speak for all of those involved in moderating this blog… however that is my personal and independent opinion on the subject.
I live a 97 hour bike ride away from LA so I have no idea…
Thank you!

I don’t personally know this answer, but maybe one of our followers do? If anyone knows the answer to this, send it to us and we’ll publish it. Great question!
where are you all? ;)
we. are. everywhere.
i’d like to minor in womens studies and travel the world liberating women who have never had a choice to be anything but slaves to their men and culture.
The first thing you can do to help women around the world is knock off with that mindset. Women in other countries are not completely helpless, they are not stupid. They don’t need white women coming in and “liberating” them. If you want to go places, observe, and help WHEN ASKED that’s one thing. Ask questions. Be RESPECTFUL. You do not necessarily know what is best for a person, they do. If you want to get involved there are probably clubs on campus, just ask your instructor! Taking classes on gender as well as on women’s studies is super important as well. Recognise that women come in all shapes, sizes, colours, and genitalia. Support trans* women. Attend events. Start a band. Start a grrrl gang. Fight body-shaming by shaving your legs or not shaving your legs do whatever you wanna do with your legs and encourage everyone else do the same; be who THEY want to be. Fight femme-shaming. Fight fat-shaming.
I don’t really check this blog anymore, but if you have any other questions I can be found over at glasscoffin.tumblr.com.
That’s beautiful and definitely a focal point of the third wave of feminism. Stay awesome grrrl!
