so i have been a feminist for a long time i guess i just haven't really done anything to contribute but i do have strong beliefs i'm just sort of an outcast so i spend most of my time writing and painting. i'm starting college in the fall and i'd like to minor in womens studies and travel the world liberating women who have never had a choice to be anything but slaves to their men and culture. so i guess i would just like to know how i can get involved now?

The first thing you can do to help women around the world is knock off with that mindset. Women in other countries are not completely helpless, they are not stupid. They don’t need white women coming in and “liberating” them. If you want to go places, observe, and help WHEN ASKED that’s one thing. Ask questions. Be RESPECTFUL. You do not necessarily know what is best for a person, they do. If you want to get involved there are probably clubs on campus, just ask your instructor! Taking classes on gender as well as on women’s studies is super important as well. Recognise that women come in all shapes, sizes, colours, and genitalia. Support trans* women. Attend events. Start a band. Start a grrrl gang. Fight body-shaming by shaving your legs or not shaving your legs do whatever you wanna do with your legs and encourage everyone else do the same; be who THEY want to be. Fight femme-shaming. Fight fat-shaming.
I don’t really check this blog anymore, but if you have any other questions I can be found over at glasscoffin.tumblr.com.
Even though I have been raised by a very feminist dad, my brother said today "Girls should dress properly, you shouldn't dress to show your ass and be sexy". Indeed, my brother is sexist. So I told him "I have every right to show my ass and it gives noone the right to touch it." And I thought of your blog right after I said it. <3 Susie

That’s beautiful and definitely a focal point of the third wave of feminism. Stay awesome grrrl!
I was at a show and was the only girl moshing. Another girl pulled me aside and told me that I was going against everything Kathleen Hanna and Bikini Kill stood for. Is it really better for me to stand aside in silent protest of male-dominated mosh pits when what I really want to do is join in?

I think everyone differs on this opinion and I don’t speak for the whole of this blog, however, personally I think that as a Riot Grrrl you do what you want when you want. If you want to protest by joining in, join in! Don’t ever let the patriarchy keep you from doing what you want. Be the Grrrl that you are, and own it.
Hi Hi Im making a riot grrrl fanzine for my graphic design degree project and i'm showing examples of modern day riot grrrls and how you they communicate such as blogs, facebook and twitter. Would i be able to use some of you posts in my zine? Helen
I don’t see why not! Just credit us and the source :) Good luck Grrrl.
Hey diggin your blog heavily. Can you give me some riot grrrl bands I should check out?

made a post about Riot GRRRL love it! :D
At school we had to like do a talk on an issue. The issue I chose was "Do women incite or cause rape if they are dressed like "sluts" I was obviously saying Hell No but I thought other people would be like weird about it and think I was strange that I was doing a talk on rape but they were genuinely interested in one of the facts I had and liked my talk. YAY ME :)

Hey! I found your tumblr recently and literally looked through every page! It's so inspiring and it made me so happy and proud to be a girl! I was wondering if you had the names of any other feminist/riot grrrl tumblrs?
does anyone want to answer this?
Hi, we're a new feminist zine made by people from Bournemouth University, UK. Our zine is a reaction to being told we can't be angry feminists, or the patriarchy won't accept us- but there's so much to be angry about! If you could promote us to your followers, that would be fabulous, thanks :)
